Lincolnshire, IL, May 23, 2006 - Transaction Printer Group (TPG), a global leader in the design, manufacture, and marketing of point-of-sale printers, is pleased to announce the introduction of its new Imaging Module. The Imaging Module is designed for TPG's A776/B780 Hybrid printers and is available either factory-installed on new printers or as a kit for field upgrades of printers currently in use. TPG's Imaging Module allows retailers to scan both sides of a check or ID in one pass, taking approximately 3 seconds to capture the image. When scanning checks, the unit simultaneously reads the check MICR.
Many retailers have been looking for the best way to capture check images at the point-of-sale to meet the requirements of Check 21 - and TPG's Imaging Module is the answer. For retailers who know that capturing images for Check 21 will soon be a reality, but aren't quite ready for implementation, TPG's A776 hybrid printer is the obvious choice because it is designed to be field upgradable for imaging in less than 15 minutes.
Clif Gatehouse, Vice President of Sales & Marketing for TPG says, "We are very pleased to offer the flexibility to our customers to add check and ID imaging capability whenever they need it." He goes on to say "TPG has a long history of product innovations that have made POS transactions more efficient and beneficial for retailers. The Imaging Module is the latest example and points the way toward future innovations."
