Senior Electrical Engineer

Department: Engineering
Reports to: Director of Engineering
FLSA Status: Exempt
Status: Full-time

JOB SUMMARY

Evaluates electricalsystems, products, components, and applications by designing and conducting research programs; applying knowledge of electricity and materials. Confirms system's and components' capabilities by designing testing methods; testing properties.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

  • Design, develop, prototype, and test digital, analog, and power circuitry for thermal printers
  • Perform design calculations and simulations for new circuit designs
  • Interface with parts vendors to maintain and expand the approved components list
  • Maintain and generate purchasing specs for purchased components
  • Follow the electrical design process as outlined in CTPG’s ISO system. 
  • Develop and execute testing plans to confirm system and component capabilities and specifications
  • Interface with and provide support to other departments of CTPG as necessary
  • Release design documentation to manufacturing for electrical circuit boards
  • Debug and determine field failures, determine root cause, and provide corrective actions

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor of Science (or higher) in Electrical Engineering
  • Minimum 10 years of related engineering experience
  • Extensive experience with electrical schematic and layout software; Altium is a plus
  • Experience with Electromagnetic Compliance and Safety requirements (EN55032 ITE, EN61000), and the ability to troubleshoot and design for problems therein
  • Proficient with electrical testing and compliance equipment
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to travel overseas to Asia (5% of time)
  • FPGA/ASIC development and VHDL programming a plus
  • Familiarity with firmware and software structure a plus
  • Familiarity with stepper motors, thermal print engines, or other electromechanical assemblies a plus

Software Engineer

JOB SUMMARY

Responsible for the design, development, maintenance, testing, evaluation and deployment of the computer software used in support of CognitiveTPG’s related business products.

As a Software Engineer, you will work with CTPGs engineering process building software that empowers engineering teams to develop, test, debug and deliver high quality products quickly. We are focused on solving the hardest, most interesting challenges of developing software without sacrificing stability, quality, velocity or code health.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

  • Analyze and interpret older technologies/software applications and re-design/re-implement the same in newer environments/technologies.
  • Utilize problem-solving skills and experience to isolate and correct bugs.
  • Analyze existing software code for improvement in the areas of reliability and/or function.
  • Create software engineering solutions for problems.
  • Create detailed software designs in UML that fulfills the product requirements of new projects as defined by CTPG. 
  • Write unit test plans to confirm software’s capabilities to meet functional specifications.
  • Provide support to ongoing sales effort by helping to solve integration problems with customer applications using our drivers/software products. 
  • Work collaboratively in a team environment.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor of Science or higher degree in Computer Science
  • 5 years relevant industry experience
  • Knowledge and experience in Java, C/C++, C#, Visual Studio, and VB .Net programming languages. 
  • Current knowledge or experience with iOS, Android platforms
  • Knowledge or understanding of Universal Windows Platform
  • Ability to pick up on proprietary printer languages.
  • Knowledge of current software programming tools used in the industry.
  • Familiar or has knowledge of firmware design.
  • Experience with device drivers, UPOS drivers - Installshield, is a plus.
  • Experience with Windows printer system drivers and/or Linux CUPS drivers is a plus.

Internal Sales Account Manager

Department: Sales
Reports to: VP of Sales and Marketing
Supervisory Responsibility: None

JOB SUMMARY

Working as a member of the Sales and Marketing team, the Account Manager will act as the main internal interface to effectively support our customers and maximize our sales and ensure the long-term success of an agreed assigned customer list. Acts as “voice of the customer” in solution development efforts ensuring customer needs are being met while involving all necessary personnel - including OEM & Channel Manager, external Rep Companies and multiple departments throughout the organization.  

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

  • Provide internal support to the sales team for a defined customer list.
  • Develop and maintain effective customer relations with all contacts within assigned accounts, acting as day to day contact.
  • Maintain sales history and gather customer forecasts information for input into ongoing sales forecast to be presented to operations monthly.
  • Maintain key customer and third-party inventory reports for use in planning and forecasting activates.  
  • Work with other departments to respond to customer inquiries regarding price, delivery, inventory levels, quality and technical issues.
  • Maintain and update CRM software (Salesforce.com) by inputting opportunities, link major relevant communications including all quotes, add and delete contacts, new accounts, and projects.
  • Support all trade show activities from show planning, equipment preparation to booth duty.
  • Maintain price exception log (PE) in salesforce and manage approved special pricing quotes and review annually at year end.
  • Maintain Key customer cross reference and price lists, review annually at year end.
  • Occasional travel to major customer sites, examples: - conferences, promotional events  or annual business review.
  • Be the advocate for the customer relating to Quality, Technical, Operational or Financial issues or concerns. Work with internal departments to fully communicate and ensure resolution of these issues in a timely manner.
  • Respond to all forms of leads and inquires in a timely and professional manner and ensure they are recorded and referred in CRM (Salesforce.com).
  • Support Marketing activities such as revising brochures as specifications change. 
  • Provide primary back up for sales personnel on PTO or unavailable due to travel or other commitments.
  • Be flexible to undertake other sales tasks as assigned by VP of Sales and Marketing.

QUALIFICATIONS AND WORK EXPERIENCE

  • Four-year degree in business or marketing or equivalent experience.
  • Three years’ experience in inside sales and account management support.
  • Exhibit a positive outgoing and confident attitude.
  • Should possess or have the ability to gain product knowledge and applications quickly.
  • Previous experience selling electronic components a plus.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects at a time while paying strict attention to detail along with shifting priorities.
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
  • Proficient in MS Office, ERP (Oracle) experience and CRM (Salesforce.com).
